Green Release Biodegradable, Canola Oil Based, Reactive Concrete Form Release

Product Info

What is GreenRelease?

GreenRelease is a chemically reactive, non-petroleum, bio-degradable form release in a canola oil substrate.

GreenRelease reacts with the alkali in the concrete to form a barrier film that inhibits the bonding of fresh concrete to formwork.

When properly applied, GreenRelease will provide a quick, easy and clean release of concrete from formwork.

GreenRelease will not inhibit adhesion properties of subsequent coatings to concrete.

GreenRelease can be used on various types of forms including wood, BB plyform, steel, and aluminum.

GreenRelease comes with a pleasant cherry scent, making it nicer to work with.

Mixing

GreenRelease requires no mixing, it should be applied undiluted to various types of forms.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces in contact with GreenRelease must be free of dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants.

When using new forms of any type, it is necessary to thoroughly saturate with GreenRelease.

Clean-Up

Clean tools and equipment by scraping and removing old concrete.

Storage

Store material in an interior, cool, dry place. Material may thicken and even gel at temperatures below -7° C and should be allowed to rise to 10°C or more before use. Shelf life is one year in original, un-opened container.

Limitations

GreenRelease is not for use as a bondbreaker or concrete release agent for lift or tilt up concrete construction. It is not recommended for untreated masonite, untreated paper or aliphatic soluble form liner.

Coverage

Actual rates can vary depending on type and porosity of the surface and application methods.

Recommended coverage is as follows:

  • Aluminum, plastic, steel 1600 ft2/gal
  • Medium density plywood 1300 ft2/gal
  • BB grade plyform 1000 ft2/gal
  • Dimensional lumber 800 ft2/gal

    • Caution
Avoid contact with eyes. Protective goggles are recommended in case of splashing. Flush eyes with water if contact occurs. Ingestions of small amounts are not harmful and must be treated as a laxative. In case of ingestion of large amounts contact a poison center or physician. If mist or vapor is generated, organic respirator must be worn.

For best results, roller application is recommended. GreenRelease may also be applied by, spray mopping or brushing. For maximum performance, apply a thin film to formwork.

Attention: Because of GreenReleases biodegradability, it is recommended that forms be used within 2 weeks of GreenRelease application. Forms will develop mold, which may affect form surface, if stored for longer periods of time with GreenRelease applied.
